The Patrol

This jacket is absolutely gorgeous, it’s made from thick but exceptionally supple cow hide with suede inside collar. I ride a beautiful Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe M8. I didn’t really want to project the black leather biker image, I’m too old at 75. I plan on touring Europe, staying at cheap accommodation, when I’m travelling and staying 4 star when I wish to spend a few days in an area. I wanted a jacket that I could wear off the bike in a smart casual manner. The Patrol fills this part of the brief completely. It is also an exceptionally good jacket for riding in. The 2 way zip allows me to sit on my bike without the jacket bunching up, which a long jacket would do otherwise. The 4 outside pockets function well and the jacket has 2 inner pockets, one of which has a zip and it swallows my large mobile phone, whilst keeping it safe from falling out, if I carry the jacket over one arm.
I had to apply a liberal amount of candle wax and perfect the technique, in order to engage the zip easily - that’s the downside of a 2 way zip - but I’ve mastered it now.
The lining looks really nice and is warm - I would’ve liked the option of specifying an upgrade to a heavy wool lining, as I wear almost 100% natural fabrics. No doubt that would’ve made the jacket considerably more expensive but I would’ve paid it.
This jacket is an absolute bargain, the quality is superb! It comes with easily removable shoulder and elbow armour. In short:- it’s a highly functional motorcycle jacket that looks very smart off the bike.

I love my new patrol jacket. Beautiful leather and finished to a premium standard. I’d have no reservations about buying from goldtop again. My jacket arrived quickly. Had to contact goldtop as my jacket didn’t have the goldtop logo on the pocket. Charlie was excellent and confirmed he’d resolve this issue in due course. 10/10

I bought the patrol jacket a couple of months ago knowing the weather was about to turn towards winter and I wasn’t disappointed.

Warm, water resistant and super comfortable due to the soft leather and the upgraded flexible armour, built like a tank, a jacket as it should be.

I wanted an all year round stylish protective traditional jacket that would take an occasional shower and daily commuting in its stride without looking like Buzz Lightyear replacing my previous jackets every few years.

I went for the upgraded armour and the waterproofing also so it doesn’t get much better, the suit feels its built to last and has an air of quality about it so it inspires confidence in the product should the worse happen.

The staff have been absolutely amazing and went the extra mile in fully kitting me out, friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the product.

I have been back twice now and I intend to return again shortly for some more accessories.

World class products

Purchased the Ocre Patrol jacket as a late 65th birthday present to myself. I thought the Ocre Patrol jacket has softer and more waxey leather and better traffic presence over the black version. I am tall and slim so need a longer cut jacket. I was surprised I needed a 44" instead of the usual 42" chest. In winter I ride with thick pullover . So need a jacket loose in the summer and tighter in the winter . These jackets seem true to size so you might need to go up a size if mail ordering. Supplied body armour doesn't effect the fit. I tried on with both armour out an in. In my opinion the back armour is essential and the shop staff fit it for you. Jacket is able to be tightly fastened at the neck and belt. To fit on the BMW The bottom pop stud had to be undone. There is a two way brass zip so no bunching up. Usual no pressure and attentive service from the Goldtop staff to ensure the fit was perfect. This is my first non black leather jacket. Ocre is the better of the two colours available in my opinion. Buy with confidence.

The quality of the patrol jacket’s leather is amazing. It’s by far the best quality coat I have. Joe was also quick to respond and answer questions I had over email.
