What size should I get?
Men's sizes are chest measurements in inches; women's follow UK dress sizes. Most riders take their usual size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger.
Is armour included?
Elbow and shoulder armour is included, in Knox or D3O. Back armour is an optional extra.
Is this jacket waterproof?
No. Semi-aniline leather is only slightly water resistant, fine for a short light shower, but not designed for sustained downpours.
How long does delivery take?
Order before 12pm UK time and we will try and ship your order on the same day (Monday to Friday).
Can I return it?
Yes. UK returns are free on orders over £250. International customers cover return postage.
Does the leather need breaking in?
It softens over the first few hundred miles and keeps its shape.

Great Jacket but poor Qualitiy and Customer Service

The jacket itself is fantastic; however, I am unfortunately very disappointed with the quality and customer service. I have only worn the jacket three times myself. Regrettably, damage has already appeared on the inside of the sleeves. According to Goldtop Customer Service, I was responsible for causing this damage; however, I neither wear jewelry while riding nor tuck my gloves inside the jacket. Even if I did, such damage should not occur after being worn only three times. I therefore cannot recommend the Goldtop brand, even though their jackets are very beautiful.

Thank you for the review, and we're pleased the jacket has lived up to expectations.

Your sleeve lining shows abrasion damage caused by repeated friction against an external object - not an indication of a faulty product.

In the rare event that a customer does receive a faulty product, we cover return postage and repair or replace the jacket.

Very best,

Charlie, Goldtop

58 Jacket

I was looking for a rockers jacket and this one was for me perfect match. Its a heavy jacket and Great looking. You can use it even when you not riding. Cool look. I mesured with my body armor and followed the mesure calculation system. The inner lining has a cool gold color. Only thing with it is that tread in lining will loose in future, but thats is standard on all bike jackets. A good thing is that pattern on bottom of the waist, is good to open up and stitch on the ace cafe patch and sew it together. Well is a smashing jacket if you looking for a british jacket. Great leather and cut. However quality control is poor

I was very excited to purchase a 1958 Goldtop jacket and viewed it as an investment in a premium piece of riding gear. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing both in terms of customer service and product quality.

When the jacket first arrived, I was sent the wrong size (44 instead of the 42 I ordered), despite having previously discussed sizing to make sure I chose the correct fit. Considering the jacket had to be shipped internationally, this was already frustrating and inconvenient. Communication during this time was also quite slow, with long delays between email replies.

When I first tried installing the armour, the Velcro immediately caught the polyester lining and ripped it, which was very surprising for a product marketed as a premium, handcrafted jacket.

Eventually I received the correct size at the start of December. During the exchange, I was told there would be a small goodwill addition included with the replacement jacket for the inconvenience, but this was never included when it arrived.

Because it was the middle of summer in Melbourne and I was also away travelling for nearly two months, I didn’t begin wearing the jacket properly until recently. After only a handful of rides, I discovered that both cuffs now have holes in the lining, with long threads coming loose and the stitching clearly starting to unravel.

This level of wear after such minimal use is honestly appalling for a jacket at this price point. I had very high expectations for a brand with Goldtop’s reputation and heritage, but the combination of slow communication, the initial sizing mistake, the missing goodwill gesture, and the poor durability of the lining has made this a very disappointing purchase.

Smells fantastic!

Delighted with my brown 1958 jacket thanks. Went to the shop to try for size, lovely people, fantastic, well made, functional and good looking jackets. Other stuff too. And smells ace. ;-)

Goldtop Never Disappoints

Adding the waxed brown 1958 to my black 76 is a perfect pairing. So consistent! The thick, rich Goldtop leather and style is unequaled at this price or even 2-3x the money. I’ll be ordering the new Summer Flat Track as quickly as it’s available!

58 Jacket, so comfortable

I wanted a jacket to wear on those cooler days. Plumped for the 58 in black. It is so comfortable and moulds to you. Warm and luxurious. Highly recommend. Great product.

Don't hesitate!

I've wanted this jacket for over a year! When i first came across Goldtop it was obvious they made an amazing product. After looking at the specs of the jacket i was a bit hesitant as I am tall and have a long torso (6'2' 215 lbs 42.5 chest 36 inch waist). I prefer my jackets to be a just a bit longer but it's shorter length is not a deal breaker. I ordered a 46" in order to account for layers which fits great in the chest even without layers, the waist is a bit larger at this size for me but, the side straps do a great job of bringing it in at bottom without bunching. It's a snug fit size up!

I've tested this jacket in 35F at an average speed of 80 mph for 2 hours and with a couple of layers and it was very warm!

Oh and if you're worried about the collar flapping -it's not an issue until you get up to 90mph or more, and it's not really an issue at all a flap here and there nothing major (mainly when turning my head to look around. not an issue when facing forward at all). Probably shouldn't be riding that fast anyway but hey anything for a the review right?

The 2 inside pockets are MASSIVE. I could easily carry a beer or 2 in each pocket with the jacket unzipped! Hand pockets actually fit my hands as well very roomy easily fit my gloves in there when not riding.

lastly i went with d30 ghost armor for the shoulders and elbows as that's what i'm used to and it's not noticeable at all. Added the knox micro lock compact armor seems thick out of the box but barely notice it while wearing the jacket or while riding.

Also, big thanks for to the Goldtop family for answering numerous emails and DM's. You're all amazing!

The perfect Highwayman jacket

I've been shopping around for the perfect fitting Highwayman style leather jacket for a long time. I've got a few Goldtop products, so I knew the quality would be 10/10 (it is).

The thing that sets this apart is the fit. Perfect length at the front and back, perfect sleeve length and room at the chest to layer up while riding. I usually take a 42", but I sized up to a 44" to make room for shoulder/elbow pads. I recommend sizing one notch.

Worth every penny, I can see me wearing this for decades. Thanks team!

Amazing quality!

I've had my jacket a couple of years and it's got better through use, feels like it could be from the era it emulates where quality meant more. Highly recommend.

1958 jacket waxed brown

Really pleased with my new Goldtop 1958 jacket, I wanted a traditional looking leather jacket with the added bonus of armour protection. I went one size up as they are a close fit, it will give slightly as you wear it in and also enable enough room to fit a jumper as well for the cold days. The appeal of this jacket is that it can be worn casually as well without screaming bike jacket. Great value for money from a heritage brand.

Perfect 👌🏼

Purchased this jacket as a day to day jacket as I already own a 76 cafe racer jacket which I totally love, but being a fair weather rider I wanted a jacket that I could wear as a “normal jacket” that looks good and not quite so bikerish as the 76.
The clean styling of the 58 fits the bill perfectly with the same quality and attention to detail as you would expect from Goldtop. I have already received a couple of compliments on it, and I’ve only had it three days!!
I could go on about the quality of the jackets including the wonderful smell of the leather! But it’s already well documented!

If you’re considering one, just do it! You won’t be disappointed!!

Now saving up for one in brown!! 😊
Good work as always Goldtop.

Great Jacket, Bad Zipper

Great quality jacket, its just that the zipper will destroy your shirts. They need to add a backing for the zipper, this thing has destroyed a lot of my shirts by getting the material stuck in the teeth.

Its another beautifully made leather! No surprises there. I havent ridden in it or worn it yet, but i threw it on when it got here, and its a great colour and shape. Heavy leather. Did i get the right size? Not sure. Could have been one size smaller i reckon. Hmm.

Unassailable quality AND client service

I bought my first Goldtop jacket 3 years ago ('74 Scuftuf), and have since lost considerable weight such that I needed a new jacket. I live in the US, and Goldtop is the only jacket brand I wear. CE AAA certification AND exquisite leather and build/construction is a unicorn, yet Goldtop consistently delivers.

I reached out to the company and Sarah swiftly replied with suitable options. She was extraordinary in her client-centered approach, going above and beyond to ensure I made an informed decision based on their current offerings. I was delighted to learn a Racing Green 1958 was available in my size, and Sarah moved quickly to get it shipped out. The jacket arrived as described, fit like a second skin (okay, not "boy band" tight, but you get the idea - fitment is ideal), and shipping rivaled Amazon in terms of expediency.

The fact that I've had two jackets, three years apart, each of unrivaled quality and coupled with first-class, exemplary interactions, will keep me loyal to Goldtop for life. Thank you, Sarah, for a wonderful experience; you're an outstanding ambassador to the Goldtop brand!

Wow! Exceeds expectations.

I was really nervous about buying a leather jacket online. Mainly, because I wanted high quality leather and I wasn't sure about the size and fit. After a few months I took the plunge and I couldn't be happier. I now understand the meaning of thick, buttery soft leather! I am a size 42 suit jacket, and the 42 inch is perfect. Delivery and packaging was top quality, too. Highly recommended.

1959 oxblood jacket

Originally bought a 46 because some reviews said they were small sizes, which was too large (recommend you follow yhe online measurement tool). The staff at Goldtop were very helpful and sorted the right size. I have checked out a number of suppliers and this jacket is great quality.
