How to reattach your AERO branded Goldtop jacket zip puller

Every Goldtop jacket is fitted with a high-grade YKK metal zip, chosen for its strength and smooth running.

We have designed the puller to be easily replaceable, which makes repairs easy and helps your jacket last longer: a lost puller does not mean a new zip. With a replacement puller and bridge, the repair can be done in a minute or two, and doesn't need any tools.

Bought your jacket 10 years ago and the puller just failed? Don't worry - we'll still send you a replacement puller and bridge for free, you'll just need to pay postage of a small letter.

In your envelope
One AERO puller and one bridge.

Your fingers and good light. No tools.

The bridge. The small clip that holds the puller to the slider. It looks like an elephant: a curled trunk at one end, one spiky foot at the other.

Before you start

  1. Close the zip about halfway, so the teeth hold the slider steady.
  2. Lay the jacket flat with the collar furthest from you. In these instructions, "top" means towards the collar.
  3. Remove any remaining pieces of the old bridge.

Fitting the puller

STEP 1

Position the puller

Lay the puller flat on the slider, with AERO facing you and the rectangular window at the top.

Move it until you can see the small hole on the slider through the window. The two must line up.

STEP 2

Insert the elephant's foot

Hold the bridge with the trunk towards the collar and the spiky foot pointing down at the slider.

Push the foot through the puller's window and into the small hole.

STEP 3

Lower the trunk and click

Keeping the foot in the hole, lower the bridge flat onto the slider. The top of the puller now sits under the elephant's belly.

Hook the trunk over the top edge of the slider, into the small slot there, and press with your thumb until it clicks. It sometimes needs a firm push.

STEP 4

Check the fit

The puller should swing freely out from the jacket, and the bridge should stay put when you give the puller a gentle tug.

Run the zip up and down once to finish.

If the bridge will not click

Please do not force it with pliers, as this can bend the bridge or mark the slider. Lift it off, check the foot is fully in the small hole, the top of the puller is under the belly and the trunk is lined up with the slot, then try again.
