The Patrol

Purchased the Ocre Patrol jacket as a late 65th birthday present to myself. I thought the Ocre Patrol jacket has softer and more waxey leather and better traffic presence over the black version. I am tall and slim so need a longer cut jacket. I was surprised I needed a 44" instead of the usual 42" chest. In winter I ride with thick pullover . So need a jacket loose in the summer and tighter in the winter . These jackets seem true to size so you might need to go up a size if mail ordering. Supplied body armour doesn't effect the fit. I tried on with both armour out an in. In my opinion the back armour is essential and the shop staff fit it for you. Jacket is able to be tightly fastened at the neck and belt. To fit on the BMW The bottom pop stud had to be undone. There is a two way brass zip so no bunching up. Usual no pressure and attentive service from the Goldtop staff to ensure the fit was perfect. This is my first non black leather jacket. Ocre is the better of the two colours available in my opinion. Buy with confidence.

The quality of the patrol jacket’s leather is amazing. It’s by far the best quality coat I have. Joe was also quick to respond and answer questions I had over email.

Ordering & advice by telephone was personal & tailored to my needs. The offer of a free returns slip should the size be incorrect was a sensible bonus & clinched the deal. Patrol jacket is no lightweight, but then it's top notch leather AAA rated. (Unlike a textile) Wore it that night for 30 miles and it felt instantly comfortable and re-assuring. I still have some sheepskin lined Goldtop boots from the 1970's too !

Love it. Excellent leather and value. And it fits! I’m 6’3” 280 lbs and the 52 is perfect. Most Euro jackets just don’t fit, even in larger sizes (if you can find them). This jacket is an excellent value.
Only “flaw” is underarm grommets for venting. That’s it. I prefer darker browns. Some leather coloring products took care of that. All in all, very pleased.

the construction and quality of this jacket is stunning. I've been riding motorcycles for more than 50 years and for the last 40+ years have been wearing a jacket I purchased when I was 17 years old - yes it still fits. There is no doubt in my mind my new Goldtop Patrol jacket will outlast the old jacket. The challenge is can I be riding for another 40+ years!! And Goldtop's service is also outstanding - a refreshing change in a world so often marked by poor customer service.
