Built for Britain’s Hardest Winter

In 1940, RAF fighter pilots faced conditions few garments were designed to withstand. Flying in unpressurised cockpits at altitude, exposed to freezing air and long patrols over the Channel. Warmth was not comfort, it was survival.

The sheepskin flying jacket is one of the defining silhouettes of the Battle of Britain: practical, rugged, and unmistakably British.

Our interpretation honours that original purpose while refining construction for durability, everyday wear, and a touch of luxury.

Each jacket is made from 100% British sheepskin, selected for pile depth, strength, and natural beauty. The dark brown exterior leather is complimented by ginger shearling. An iconic combination: as seen on the originals as issued by the Royal Air Force during World War II.

A dual-panel back replaces the quartered wartime construction, increasing strength and longevity without altering the iconic silhouette. Reinforced belt loops, box-stitched straps, and double-thickness stress points result in a jacket that is built to last, maturing gracefully and bearing the marks of each adventure.

A solid brass buckle and keep adorn the double-thickness belt to secure the waistline of the jacket. Solid brass double D rings at the reinforced collar strap seal the collar around the wearer, should conditions become foul.

Premium polished zips from YKK ensure reliable and smooth operation for the lifetime of the garment - guaranteed.

Great Jacket

I am extremely pleased with this jacket, and it lives up to the reputation of these flying jackets in many ways. It is a very high quality reproduction of the original WW2 item, and the attention to detail is second to none. Well worth the money in my opinion and I would definitely recommend it.
The jacket is beautifully made and finished, using quality materials, feels really comfortable to wear, and is very warm indeed.
I'm yet to wear it on the bike in cold weather, but I am expecting it to keep my neck especially toasty.
The gold stitching is well done, and contrasts really nicely against the brown leather. The shearling lining is thick and plush, making it superbly comfortable to wear.
This is an expensive jacket, but in my opinion it is worth every penny.
I'd also like to thank Goldtop customer support for their swift and excellent response to a product query that I raised. They certainly know how to look after their customers.
5 stars all round from me.

Softest leather I have ever felt!

I measured myself before I ordered and ordered the exact size my measurements fit which was a 38. There isn't much room under the jacket but it is so well lined that honestly you don't need anything underneath. I wear it over the top of a Pando moto armoured base layer and it's incredibly comfy and warm.

When it arrived me and my partner couldn't belive the quality of the leather and the solid brass belt buckle is a lovely quality touch.

I wear this jacket everyday on my Vespa and it's easily the comfiest most luxurious jacket I've ever owned. The lining is quite thick so it can seem like a bit of a puffer jacket sometimes but overall this is a superbly made jacket, no expense has been spared and I have a feeling this jacket will do me many many years.

Definitely 5 stars from me and I have a feeling I'll be ordering from Goldtop again very soon. Delivery was also super fast which is always a nice bonus plus they even gave me a little postcard which entitles me to a free hot drink if I visit their shop which was really nice.

Overall a fantastic quality jacket with amazing customer service.

Awesome Jacket

Long overdue review of this awesome jacket, but I have had the benefit now of using it for a few months. The only reason I didn't want summer to come early, was that I would have to hang the jacket up until the return to colder weather. I have wanted this jacket for years, and it has not disappointed. Exceptional quality and warmth and I am absolutely delighted with it. I have never owned any item of clothing that has prompted so many admiring comments from others. If you are in any way considering it for yourself, I would encourage yo to go for it. You will not be disappointed.

Stylish and warm

There is no danger of getting cold in this jacket. I love the styling, it just looks classy and cool. Bought myself an armoured under jacket to wear for riding with it.

Flying Jacket.

I don't normally leave a review on any purchase, but this jacket deserves one.
I'd always wanted a WW2 era sheepskin jacket eventually and looked what was out there earlier this year.
There was plenty of choice around the £300 range, but reviews and pictures of them looked so-so.
The RAF Museum Shop has a Irvin design jacket which looked great, but nearly £1200.
I found a retailer with a jacket reduced from £550 down to just over £400, but when it arrived and I opened it, I felt underwhelmed as it looked no better than the cheap Infinity leather ones, So that was returned ASAP.
Fast forward a month and I randomly saw a Goldtop Ad, saw this jacket and it looked impressive for £599.
It turned up a couple of days later, and I'm not sure what magic they use on their boxes, as I had tad of disappointment as the box felt surprisingly light.
However once I took the jacket out it looked and felt amazing and hefty. So no idea how it felt lighter in the packaging?
It was a seriously huge upgrade on the cheaper one I'd returned!
It'd be interesting to know what the quality difference is between this Goldtop jacket and those costing nearly double, as it'll be hard to improve that much for twice the price.

Flying jacket

Well constructed jacket, not as thick and heavy as i was expecting but lovely to wear all the same, i did buy it for my winter riding jacket but will end up wearing if off the bike more than on.
Happy with my purchase.

Another degree of wonderful.

I already have a lot of articles from Goldtop so am fortunately aware of the high quality. This jacket ratchets everything up though, so warm, comfortable and stylish. The brassware and zips are faultless and substantial and the sheepskin shearling lining hugs you in a wonderful embrace. This obviously does not have armour fitted but so what, that is just a modern fad and can be solved by wearing an armoured undergarment if you so desire. I shall ride my motorbikes with just this jacket, the lining and outer leather shell will be more than I require in forms of protection. Truly a piece of clothing art.

Wanted one for many years , finally found this one at Goldtop. By far the best one I've come across! 10/10 for quality. 10/10 for fit. Well worth the money and the 2 hour drive down to the shop. The staff were very helpful.
Highly recommend this Jacket!

About bloody time!

I've waited for about a year for this jacket to be restocked. The quality is perfect and does not disappoint. This is my 3rd Goldtop jacket and I must admit as a Yank it is superior to my Schott jackets.

Magnifique !!!

I was already a customer of Goldtop, particularly for gloves, and I ordered this jacket and received it within 72 hours in the south of France.
I’m 175 cm tall, weigh 75 kg, usually a size 40 with an average build, and it fits very comfortably, even with a sweater underneath.
It is simply magnificent — premium material and impeccable finishing.
The value for money is excellent, and the service was perfect.
My daughter wishes there were an equivalent version for women because she loved it so much.
I wholeheartedly recommend Goldtop, and this jacket in particular.

Stunning Jacket

I have been looking for a few years now. And having had Goldtop gloves and sweaters in the past when I made the choice to go for a flying jacket there was no choice. It had to be Goldtop. As much as the Irvin is the "original" it really is no better than the Goldtop. The attention to detail and honouring the Battle of Britain on the inside of jacket is a lovely piece. And the fit is perfect. Its so well made and thank you for all the staff that gave me info on sizing as well. A very happy customer again :)

Superb

Got my jacket today in size 48”
I’m 188cm/103kg and it fits just like I was promised.
Quality of this jacket is superb, even better I was hoping and expecting.
Not cheap but quality considering, well worth the price and few days silent treatment with the wife.
