A quality jacket
I finally decided to pull the pin on the 1958 jacket. I initially went for a size 42" (I'm a 40" chest), as various reviews and another stockist size guide recommended to size up, however the Goldtop guide is pretty accurate. Goldtop exchanged the jacket within a few days, with no drama. I went for the waxed brown, and was slightly worried about the photos on the website as the colour looked lighter. However, in the flesh it's a fantastic colour. The fit is spot on, and it has that quality almost made to measure feel to it. A velcro patch that secures the armour in one of the arms isn't fully stitched, but that's only a slight issue. When I can be bothered I will sow it up (it isn't visible, and the armour doesn't move). The arms are a little snug with the knox microlock armour fitted (perhaps I should have gone with the d30 ghost armour option), but I am sure will mold to shape in time. This is the second Goldtop jacket I own (along with a pair of gloves and a necktube). It won't be the last one I buy. I also like the fact that they are a British brand.
